Though politically the DailyKos (www.dailykos.com), and other far left
blogsites, are politically immature and intellectually dishonest,
conservatives should thank the growing influence that the blog site has
on the political left. This site consists of members of the left
that are much more extreme than the majority of those that support the
Democratic Party. However, because of their influence,
particularly through their ability to raise money, elected representatives and
potential candidates will in turn be forced to take more extreme stances
on issues. These positions will ultimately be different than those
possessed by the mainstream of their base, and weaken their ability to
either hold or gain national seats. The influences of these far
left blog sites can be seen when Michael Moore gets an honorary seat
next to Jimmy Carter at the DNC, and also when a long standing
Democratic Senator Joe Liebermann has to fight for his political life,
against his own party, even though he votes with them 90 percent of the
time.
It is also important to note how right winged blog sites, in contrast,
seem to represent more mainstream views, and are usually better
informed.
