Zel Miller RNC Part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fENTx9gMB4w

The 2004 RNC and DNC consisted of many great speeches, and I should know because I came close to watching all of them.  One of these speeches, however, truly stuck out as one that should remembered for years to come.  This was the keynote speech given at the RNC by then Democratic U.S. Senator Zell Miller.  In this speech Zell Miller put party identification behind him, and rather based his speech on love for country, and the liberty it has made possible throughout the world.  I would encourage everyone to watch the video  of his speech.  The speech is in three parts, and because I don't know how to put more then one link per blog, part 2 and 3 will be my next two blogs.

Call it What it is

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/10/24/khawaja-ruling.html

Today the Canadian Broadcasting Company reported on the trail of Mohammed Momin Klawaja.  According to the CBC Klawaja has been connected to "seven criminal charges related to allegations he took part in and helped an extremist organization in Britain."  Of course, by 'extremist organization,' the CBC means a Islamic terrorist organization.  Unfortunately, it is often thought of as politically incorrect to call things what they are, especially in regard to Islamo-fascism.  Maybe the CBC is scared they'll get bombed.

Boys Now Unwelcomed in Elementary Schools

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061018/ap_on_fe_st/playground_tag_ban

Recently, elementary schools in South Boston, Massachusetts have eliminated tag, touch football, and any other game that involves chasing from activities that are permissible during recess.  Slowly, but surely, public school across America seem to be turning anti-natural boy behavior (anti-boy).  Pretty soon in Massachusetts elementary schools will make the boys attending play with dolls.

During these critical ages, young males need to have an outlet to release their natural aggression.  How many natural urges do these schools expect young boys to be able to regress until they have to project the urges in a more destructive fashion.  Maybe this shift to an anti-boy way of managing elementary schools is partly to blame for the increases in school violence.  Also, one can easily argue that this anti-boy policy in public schools has resulted in less men attending college than ever before.  I've spent many years in college, and believe me it is not a very manly place to be.  Basically, the men that seem to be the most attracted to the collegiate liberal arts are sissy liberal hippies. Mean, I know, but very true.

Nancy Pelosi On Sexual Morality

http://www.humanevents.com/winningthefuture.php?id=17453

Here are three things I learned about Nancy Pelosi today.  This shows that Pelosi lacks the moral highground to comment on the Foley controversies:
  1. Pelosi voted three times to make a convicted page sexual predator, former Congressman Gerry Studds (D-Mass.), chair of a congressional committee.

  2. In 1990, Pelosi voted against censuring Barney Frank for having his live-in boyfriend run a prostitution ring from Frank's apartment.

  3. Pelosi raised no objections when Clinton pardoned Democrat Congressman Mel Reynolds (Ill.) who had been convicted of felonies for having had sex with a 16-year-old campaign worker.

Reid's Lack of Ethics

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061011/D8KMO6NG0.html

Here's another story that broke today that documents corruption within the Democratic Party.  However, one will not find this story on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, or any of the other large news outlets.   The story documents Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid's obvious disregard for Senate ethic rules.  If this were a Republican it would be all over the news, and the Republican would probably be lumped into a category with Folly.

Media Protecting Clinton, Again

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/10/11/D8KMJE502.html

If Democrats were calling for an investigation to look into a Republican stealing classified documents from the national archives, and then destroying them, the story would be all over the press.  Since it is the Republicans calling for an investigation into a Democrat for doing the same thing, one should not be surprised when having a difficult finding the story.

Can Iran be Trusted?

http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110008968

Though Iran has continued to enrich uranium in defiance of the UN security council's resolution calling for the cessation of all enrichment by Aug. 31, the country is still defending its action by claiming that their nuclear technology is for peacefull purposes only.  The U.S. and other Western countries, however, claim that Iran is continuing their enrichment so eventually they will be able to produce nuclear weapons.  Since no one wants war, that is the U.S. enforcing UN resolutions, many people probably find themselves asking whether Iran can be trusted with nuclear technology.   The clear answer is no.  Not only because Ahmadinejad recently called for Israel to be wiped off the map, but also because of their past history.  For the last twenty plus years Iran has consistently said one thing and did the other.   Provided is a link that documents Iranian lies over the last twenty plus years.

Absence of Reason

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-pope13sep13,0,3311596.story?coll=la-home-world

Pope Benedict's speech at the University of Regsensburg caused an outcry from Muslims in the Middle East.  What caused this?  He must have said something horrible and ignorant about the Islamic faith.  Guess again.  In a long drawn out speech about religious theology and reason, Pope Benedict quoted Byzantine Emperor Manuel II conversion to a Persian in which he stated "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."  One might expect Middle Eastern Muslims to engage in a dialogue about why Islam does not command its followers to spread the faith by the sword, but instead they took out their AK-47s and hit the street in protest.  However, leaders of the Islamic faith around the Middle East did participate in some dialogue, calling the Pope a 'bigot,' 'Hitler,' and even a 'Zionist.'  Oh.

In the same speech the Pope also stated that "Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul," and "Not to act in accordance with reason is contrary to God's nature."  This statement should make one think about the riots that occurred in the Middle East over Danish cartoons that depicted Muhammad, some of them in association with violence.  Ironically, these cartoons that associated Islam with violence, caused violence.  During these riots many people died, embassies were set on fire, and over what?  This is definitely not 'acting in accordance with reason,' and killing innocent people over cartoons is definitely 'contrary to God's nature.'  This ideology also teaches and calls individuals from the Jewish faith descendants of pigs and monkeys.  These are not reasonable comments, however, are taught as fact all over the Muslim world.  Comments that call out Islamic fanaticism for the evil that it is, should not be met with more evil from fanatical Muslims.  Comments that call out extreme factions of Islam for preaching and encouraging violence,  should not be met with more violence from Muslims.  When unreasoned violence does occur, the civilized world should not reduce its freedom of press.  These ironies, time and time again, only prove the points the comments are making in the first place.   The civilized world has a responsibility to point out these flaws in human reason that exist within the fanatical ideological faction within Islam.  Hopefully by doing this, it will cause meaningful, productive, and peaceful dialogue to occur.

And remember, the Iranian government just sponsored a cartoon contest where people from all over the world could summit Holocaust cartoons, in order to offend people of the Jewish faith.  This contest caused no violent response from the Jewish people.  They have reason, and are civilized.

Women Rights in Pakistan

http://www.pakistani.org/pakistan/legislation/zia_po_1979/ord7_1979.html

There is currently a debate in Pakistan documented today on BBC's website about their rape laws.  Currently in Pakistan, rape is prosecuted under their Islamic law.  In summary, in Pakistan it is illegal to have sex outside of marriage and is punishable by death by stoning, if the individual is married to someone else at the time.  If the individual isn't already married when he or she engages in sex he or she is punished by 100 lashings and imprisonment.  When a woman is raped, to prove the rape under Islamic law she has to provide four eye witnesses who have to be Muslim men.  Therefore, if a married woman gets raped and accuses the man or men through proper Pakistani legal channels, she gets stoned to death if she cannot provide the Islamic court with 4 Muslim male witnesses.  Currently, there are human rights groups that are proposing that rape cases get moved into the country's civil secular court, but have unfortunately been met with great resistance from Islamic radicals within the country.

This should outrage much more people around the world than it currently does.  Regions of world like Pakistan are held to a low moral standard by the rest of the world, and in result stories that document their barbaric and uncivilized way of life are rare.   The Abu Graib prison scandal can cause an outcry from the entire world community, and result in an endless amount of news stories being printed about it, whereas, women in Pakistan can get raped and killed for it, and no one even says a word.

Wafa Sultan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwRPNis93HU

This is one of my favorite video clips.  It comes from Memri TV, and consists of Arab American woman psychologist Wafa Sultan, who clearly describes the problems that exist within Islamic radicalism, and was originally broadcasted on Al Jazeera TV (Qatar).  She provides a well articulated interpretation of the enemy the West faces today.  I would encourages everyone to watch this clip.

The Connection

http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/012/710goolj.asp

In a quick response to the new Senate Intelligence Report that states that prewar Iraq had no connection with al-qaeda, I have provided a link that clearly prove the opposite.  Of course, there was no link between Sadaam and 9/11.  But numerous sources have documented clearly over the past five years of the link between Iraq and multiple terrorist organizations.  It is unfortunate that many people in this country have failed to possess the intelligence to separate these two concepts.
